Baltimore 101 Bike TourThis trip covers the basic parts of Baltimore: hipster hangout Hampden, historic Fells Points, the Inner Harbor, and more.Expect to bike 17 miles in Baltimore. Beginning of route is gently uphill; rest is downhill or flat. Bring a water bottle. If you have both a U lock and a cable lock, bring both. Don't forget to bring bike lights for the ride back home. MARC's mask requirement has been rescinded.

Union Station ๐ฝ๐Meet in the MARC waiting room. Even if the waiting area is full, the train is huge and there is no need to rush. There are several MARC ticket vending machines. The Amtrak machines no longer sell MARC tickets. Buy round-trip tickets ($18) to avoid buying a return ticket in Baltimore. The train should include the bike car (at the far end of the platform). Depending on which one we get, it will have either 15 or 24 bike racks. If for some reason the bike car is missing, all other cars allow bikes, albeit only 2 per car. The MARC IV railcars accommodate bikes on the folding seats, but they advise you bring a bungee cord to secure it (not a big deal if you forget). See Bikes on MARC Train, and this video. We must exit the waiting room by 8:50am to make it to the bike car, which is at the far end of the platform. Unfortunately, the next train isn't until 10:25am. If you're late and want to join us, the 10:25am train arrives at Penn Station at 11:28am. It's a 25min bike ride to Union Craft Brewing, so you could easily meet us there by 12:10 for lunch. 8:55am depart Union Station (arrive Baltimore 9:57am).
